Great option for a rod holder. I dislike the new screws for mounting, they should go back to the knobs. Solid heavy construction, I don’t think it will break.Update… it broke after 3 months of use. Tube tube disconnected from the ratcheting mounting plate. I could see the failed weld. No recourse from Bert’s - they would not return calls. We had it re-welded and it has been fine since.I just purchased three of these rod holders and installed detachable mounts on my boat for them. I have not had a chance to use them yet but in looking them over and manipulating the mechanism, these things are very well built. I gave them four stars because I have not actually used them while fishing, my evaluation during fishing will give me a better idea of their quality and may change my review of them. I will update my post once I use them a few times. I have submitted a couple of pictures so that you can see how they are mounted.March 10th, Have been fishing with these rod holders a couple of times now and find them to be as advertised, easy to adjust, rock solid when a fish hits, and durable. Highly recommend these. As you might have seen from my previous review I mounted them differently than using the track they are designed to be mounted in. I can't vouch for he track system but the rod holder is dynamite!Came opened with no set screws.I ordered 3 Bert’s track mount and only 2 were correct. The one pictured is for the integrated tracks system. This is an Amazon shipping issue. I will be returning the wrong wrong rod holder.Bert’s tackle is quality.Update: After unpacking I noticed one of the thumb screws are missing. I will be requesting another thumb screw.Bought these to replace the cannon ratcheting rod holders that fell apart in less then a year (do not recommend those).Like the Berts a lot. Very solid built with quality components. Good solid ratchet system and release to lower back down. Run mostly mag dippsies from these holders so lots of strain with no problems.Only downside is having to pull fully from track to rotate them to a different angle. Which I don't do much unless running multiple boardsLooks and worked GREAT. A little costly but for the money you cant go wrong. being able to just lift the rod and the rod holder comes up too is well worth the money. if you only fish a few days a year them they might not be worth the money, but if you fish 3-5 days a week like I do them its a great investment. Iv'e used drift masters for years and they are a great product, but the versatility of the Bert's track system is amazing. I lay them flat for transporting and just pop them up when fishing. I no longer have to reach over the side to remove the rod. I will be ordering more of these.Work great! Excellent quality! Like them a lot!I used these for a stacking rod holder and also inline planner boards , I've used them about a dozen times and they seem to be built pretty good.
